Ocean Moods

a year of ocean

and sunrises and morning hours

the ritual of waking, unfolding. brewing strong coffee

sweet labrador’s circling with slobbery kisses

the easel calls, lay paint to canvas it say,  you have an ocean to paint.

365 paintings of ocean moods on canvas

Water as a theme has been running through my painting inspiration for some time. With the Ocean Moods series I reveal my deep reverence for the sea.

I feel so connected and bound to the Gulf of Mexico, the Choctawhatchee Bay and all the rare Coastal Dune Lakes that I have the immense good fortune to live and work near. I feel a flood of emotions every time I am in their presence, with every walk along the beach, with every sunset or sunrise viewed there’s a little part of me forever changed.

This series is about those special moments that cause awe and wonder. Those moments where the majesty of a cloud formation is so amazing, or the stillness of a clear fall morning so tremendous it takes your breath away. In this series I will interpret these emotions into the elements of abstract paintings.
