I am an artist who loves all animals especially dogs…..and I also love painting dogs. What I find the most fascinating is in the process. Beginning with the sketch and as the painting builds the personality of each dog slowly emerges, coming to life with each brush stroke, and at some point I start feeling the dog’s spirit infusing itself into the painting. It’s at this phase that I start to form a special bond with each dog I paint. They all become one of my own fur kids as I fall madly in love with every one of these beautiful beings. Every dog I paint becomes very special to me as I look through my portfolio reminiscing about them like one does when looking through a family album.
For me, it is not just about getting a painting to look exactly like a specific pet; it’s about capturing their personality. I believe that an animal’s spirit is conveyed through its eyes, a particular expression, and even the subtlest of gestures. I pour my heart and soul into every portrait hoping to capture that special essence that you cherish the most about your best four-legged friend.
My studio and gallery is located near Grayton Beach Florida where I live and work with my current menagerie which consists of my 3 (correction-) my 5 Labradors, Tully, Katie, Maddie, Spencer, and Inky along with my cat Lily and one very bossy parrot named Merlin.

I am also a passionate advocate of animal rescue and work closely with several local animal shelters. I also donate a percentage of sales to local animal rescue.
***FUR KID UPDATE: It’s official…I have been inducted into the FOSTER FAILURE CLUB!! Not once but TWICE!! I made a heartfelt earnest attempt at being a foster parent for two Labrador mix pups on two separate occasions and FAILED miserably both times!!
Foster Failure…means you fell in love with your foster pup and would be heartbroken to not have them in your life ! We are now a happy but crowded family of 5 dogs! and other critters too.
